Crafting Saturdays take place in the Roxbury Community Hall, located next to the Roxbury Town Office at 1642 Roxbury Road (VT 12A), Roxbury VT.
The intent of Roxbury Community Crafting is to get together, do something fun and creative, and enjoy socializing in a friendly environment. Most classes are free, but we have a “donation jar” for those that wish to give. All monies will be earmarked for the July 4th Events Committee.
Randy has an example of the next project at the Roxbury Country Store. Thanks, Randy, for the support!
This program is for adults, limited to 12-15 spaces per week, is hosted by local residents, and most supplies are provided. Tea and coffee will be served. For complete details of classes offered, supplies needed, and cost, click the link:
Coming up on Saturday, Dec. 3rd – Christmas Ornaments. We will make two different ornaments: Scandinavian Woven Hearts and Mini Yarn Hat Ornaments. Bring your holiday spirit! Class is in the Community Hall from 1-4PM.
Holiday Linen Napkins and Decorative Rings
We painted muslin squares to create festive napkins, and worked on several different style napkin rings. Thanks to our teacher, Carol Randall, Debra Rogler for her cookies, Carma Flowers, Carol R., and Wendy Cashman for their craft supplies.
Stationery Stamping & Embossing
The afternoon began with a quick explanation on how the process works, followed by the amazing creation of transforming powder to a solid by applying heat. By the end of just a few hours everyone had designed a half dozen remarkable cards and enjoyed delicious sweets and companionship. Special thanks to Carol Randall’s sister for providing the beautiful stamps, and Carol Edwards for providing the sweets.
Carol Randall hosted, organized, provided all the supplies, and taught us how to decoupage. Our Christmas ornaments turned out beautifully. We had a record number of participants, and the banter and laughter equaled the enthusiasm of the craft. Just complete fun and enjoyment.
Beaded Bracelets, Rings and Woven Headbands
Many a laugh had while enjoying making beaded bracelets and ribbon-woven headbands.
Artificial Flower Arranging with Dottie Guiffre
Landscape Architect Dottie Guiffre led a class in flower arranging and the meaning of flowers. We learned alot while making lovely bouquets to adorn our homes.
Birch Wood Gnomes
The first Crafting Saturday saw adorable little gnomes made from birch wood.
