In 2020, the Town of Roxbury, VT entered into an agreement with Randolph-based The Mountain Alliance, to provide waste management services, including the semi-annual Hazardous Waste Disposal Days events.

Household Hazardous Waste Days

Acids, Adhesives, Aerosols, Antifreeze, Brake Fluid, Cements, Charcoal Lighters, Chlorine, Cleaning Fluid, Degreasers, Disinfectants, Drain Cleaners, Dry Gas, Epoxies, Dyes, Fiberglass Resins, Flea Powders, Furniture Strippers, Hair Removers, Herbicides, Insect Repellents, Lacquers, Lubricants, Mothballs or Flakes, Nail Polish Removers, Oven Cleaners, Fluorescent Light tubes, Oil Based Paints, Paint Removers, Paint Thinners, Permanent Solutions, Pesticides, Photo chemicals, Rat Poisons, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners, Rust Solvents, Wood Preservatives, Spot Removers, Toilet Bowl Cleaners, Tub and Tile Cleaners, Turpentine, Varnish, Weed Killers, Wood Polishes, Wood Stains, and Mercury containing products.

Materials NOT Accepted at the Event:
Asbestos, Automotive Paint, Automotive and Marine Batteries, Tires, Used Oil, Explosives or Shock-Sensitive Materials, Ammunition, Radio-Active Wastes, Pathological Wastes, Infectious Waste, Medicines, Dioxins, Compressed Gas Cylinders, Electronic equipment, TV’s, Computers

About Mountain Alliance

The Mountain Alliance is managed by the Mountain Alliance Advisory Committee with assistance from Casella Waste Management. A member from each Town (Northfield, Braintree, Brookfield, Randolph & Roxbury) serve on the Advisory Committee. The Committee meets quarterly to discuss matters related to solid waste management and provide Solid Waste Implementation Plan (SWIP) updates.
