The Roxbury Town Office is a multi-function building. It is the office of the Town Clerk, Listers, Auditors, Planning Commission, and Selectboard.
The Town Office is Roxbury’s central location for the official governance of the Town. The Town Clerk also issues licenses (marriage, dog, Green Mountain Passport…), holds the Town’s vital records, registers voters, and maintains the land records for the Town. The Town Offices is the also town’s polling place for General and Primary Elections, and is the Command Station in case of emergency.
Records research is by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please do not enter the building if you are unwell. Closed from 12:00PM – 1:00PM for lunch.

JUSTICES OF THE PEACE
The position of Justice of the Peace is the oldest one in the state of Vermont. It was created by the Vermont Constitution in 1777. In Vermont, justices of the peace (JP) are actually county officers, even though they are elected at the annual Town Meeting in March. They must be legal voters of their town to qualify.
